Feeling the sting of Jesus rebuke in a parable, the religious leaders decided they needed to kill Jesus. The Parable was about vinedressers who refused to give a return of the Harvest to the landowner. And instead they killed every representative he sent including his beloved Son, which is a message about the Jew's propensity to kill God's representatives from the Old Testament prophets to John the Baptist and eventually Jesus Christ, the beloved Son. With the test they brought to Jesus concerning giving taxes to Caesar, Jesus gave an answer that did not trap Him, but instead amazed, I along with Jesus turned the table after saying give what is Caesar's to Caesar and to God the things that are God's. That last phrase is not something they were looking for but it masterfully drove home the pointa gain that the Jews have been rebellious by not giving to God the things that are rightfully his, but instead they have always resisted.
